I have entered a few races in the past few years and I wasn't very successful. I came 5th out of 8 in one race and 4th out of 9 in the other race. I wasn't successful but I enjoyed the experience of the competitive environment, it's totally different to rowing for leisure.

Well, I wasn't so successful in 1x. I was always in the 4th place.
We did pretty well though in double sculls. 3 gold , 2 silver and 1 bronze medal.
